Mark Kucera is a member of many mineral clubs, including the Stamford Mineralogical Society. This month's topic will be on the Sulfides. Many metal ores are sulfides, including Argentite (silver sulfide), Cinnabar (mercury sulfide), Galena (lead sulfide), penlandite (nickel sulfide), pyrite (iron disufide) and chalcopyrite (iron-copper sulfide)
Sulfides are used in many applications from infra-red sensors, anti dandruff shampoos, lubricants, artists pigments and fungicides.
